Round 2 of the AEHL U17 AAA Playoffs is complete, with four teams earning their spot at the 2026 Provincial Championships following a competitive slate of best-of-three series.
With a trip to Provincials on the line, the intensity picked up across all matchups as the CAC Canadians, Lloydminster Lancers, Calgary Northstars, and Calgary Royals emerged as the final four.
CAC Canadians vs MLAC Maple Leafs
The CAC Canadians advanced with a two game sweep over the MLAC Maple Leafs in a tightly contested series.
CAC opened with a narrow 4–3 win in Game 1 before securing the series with a 4–2 victory in Game 2 to punch their ticket to Provincials.
Lloydminster Lancers vs SSAC Bulldogs
The Lloydminster Lancers completed one of the round’s notable comebacks, defeating the SSAC Bulldogs in three games.
After dropping Game 1 by a 5–2 score, Lloydminster responded with a 4–3 win in Game 2 before closing out the series with a strong 6–3 performance in Game 3 to complete the upset.
Calgary Northstars vs South East Tigers
The Calgary Northstars advanced with a convincing two game sweep of the South East Tigers.
Calgary earned a 3–1 win in Game 1 and followed it up with a 4–0 shutout victory in Game 2 to secure their place in the Provincial Championships.
Calgary Royals vs Airdrie Avalanche
The Calgary Royals continued their strong playoff run with a two game sweep over the Airdrie Avalanche.
The Royals opened with an 8–3 win in Game 1 before closing out the series with a 5–4 overtime victory in Game 2.
With Round 2 complete, the CAC Canadians, Lloydminster Lancers, Calgary Northstars, and Calgary Royals will advance to the AEHL U17 AAA Provincial Championships, hosted by the PAC Saints from April 2–5.
