The Edmonton Jr. Oilers Blue are gearing up for their National Championship run.
The Edmonton Jr. Oilers Blue completed an incredible AEHL U18 AAA Playoff run this past Sunday, defeating the Calgary Northstars in Game 5 of the Provincial Finals.
En route to their championship, the Jr. Oilers Blue earned a bye to the North Division Semifinals, where they swept the defending North Division Champion Sherwood Park Ennis Kings. They then advanced to the North Division Finals against the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers, where they faced early adversity, dropping the first two games of the series. Edmonton responded in impressive fashion, rallying with three straight wins to secure a spot in the league final.
In the championship series, the Jr. Oilers Blue jumped out to a 2–0 series lead before the Northstars battled back to even things up and force a decisive Game 5. In the winner-take-all matchup, Edmonton held on for a 2–1 victory to capture the AEHL U18 AAA title.
Goaltender Ethan Berard was a key piece throughout the playoff run and was named Playoff MVP for his outstanding performance.
Now, the Edmonton Jr. Oilers Blue will travel to the Okanagan to face the BCEHL U18 AAA Champion Okanagan Rockets in a best-of-three Pacific Regional Championship series.
The winner will advance to the 2026 Telus Cup, set for April 20–26 in Peterborough.
