18th ANNUAL ALL-STAR GAME
The AMHL held a most successful All star game in Sherwood Park Sunday January 21. The two teams provided fast paced, spirited competition for three periods of play with the score tied 6 – 6. A 5 minute sudden victory overtime period solved nothing, then a sudden victory Shoot out took place with SSAC goaltender David Simpson stopping Bryden McGhee of the Calgary Flames for first shooter for the South Division. Jordan Draper the north team captain ended this historic event putting the puck passed UFA Bison goaltender Garrett Sheehan to lead his team to victory. This hard hitting affair saw saw the Dodge Division goaltenders make a total of 47 saves while the Chrysler Division goaltenders stopped 39 shots in a losing effort. The big winners today were the 1187 in attendance who witnessed a very exciting and entertaining hockey game.
